Image Comics unveiled Two Moons #1, the first issue of an ongoing comic series by John Arcudi, for release in February.

Writer John Arcudi, of B.P.R.D. fame (see "Dark Horse Comics Collects Three Acclaimed Hellboy Side Stories into a 420-page Volume"), is teaming up with Valerio Giangiordano to produce a new horror series set in the Civil War. The story recants the journey of Virgil Morris, a Pawnee fighting for the Union, as he taps into his shamanic roots. He quickly finds that there are horrors much worse than those seen on the battlefield.

"The complicated history of indigenous peoples during the 19th C. was what inspired me to take this story on and we explore some of that through the eyes of a young Pawnee man as he grows to learn more about his place in the world," said Arcudi of the project.

This first book in this series will feature three covers: Cover A by Giangiordano, Cover B by Zaffino, and a blank Cover C.

Image Comics also recently revealed Geiger #1, a new comic series by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank (see "Geoff Johns and Gary Frank Will Publish 'Geiger' Through Image Comics").
