Marvel Comics announced Giant-Size X-Men: Tribute to Wein & Cockrum Gallery Edition HC for release on July 14, 2021.
This new 200-page Gallery Edition hardcover pays tribute to the work of Len Wein and Dave Cockrum's on Giant-Size X-Men #1 in the 1975. The duo of Wein and Cockrum added Nightcrawler, Colossus and Wolverine to the legendary team in this issue as well as are credited with being the first to use the "snikt" onomatopoeia to describe Wolverine's claws popping out. To honor this momentous issue, Marvel has gathered 36 of its top artists to re-create this book. The artists featured in this Gallery Edition include Dave Cockrum, Alex Ross, Kevin Nowlan, Chris Samnee, Marcus To, Siya Oum, Stephen Segovia, Marguerite Sauvage, Carmen Carnero, Bernard Chang, Aaron Kuder, Takeshi Miyazawa, Juann Cabal, Gurihiru, Mark Brooks, Kris Anka, Phil Noto, Valerio Schiti, Leinil Francis Yu, Matteo Lolli, Ema Lupacchino, Carlos Gomez, Iban Coello, R.B. Silva, Ramon Rosanas, Joshua Cassara, David Baldeon, Marcelo Ferreira, Javier Garron, Rod Reis, Javier Rodriguez, Pepe Larraz, Jen Bartel, Mike del Mundo, Rahzzah, Marco Checchetto, and Mike Hawthorne.
The book collects Giant-Size X-Men: Tribute to Wein & Cockrum and Giant-Size X-Men #1 in hardcover. It features the original story by Len Wein, and a cover by Adi Granov. It will retail for $44.99.
Marvel Comics also announced X-Men Legends #1, the first book in a new series that revisits classic X-Men era plotlines (see "Marvel Writers Revisit Classic 'X-Men' Continuity With 'X-Men Legends' Miniseries").
