Thames & Kosmos is bringing a kid-friendly version of the fantasy game Legends of Andor, releasing in March, and three new versions of the puzzle game Ubongo!, coming in June and November, to North America this year.

Andor:  The Family Fantasy Game uses a simplified version of the game system from the award-winning Legends of Andor series to create a kid-friendly cooperative game with light role playing elements.  Taking on the role of magician, warrior, archer, or dwarf, players try to rescue a pack of lost wolf cubs before a rampaging dragon can pounce upon the castle.

Created by the team of Inka and Markus Brand and based on Michael Menzel's original design, Andor:  The Family Fantasy Game is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 7 and up.  Games take a little over half an hour to play.  MSRP is $34.95.

The original Legends of Andor series climaxed with Part III in 2017 (see “Three New ‘Exit’ Titles from Thames & Kosmos”), with a separate stand-alone adventure releasing last year (see “Thames & Kosmos will Release ‘The Liberation of Rietburg’ into Trade”).

Launched in 2003, Ubongo! is a puzzle-based game in which players race to fit Tetris-like into various shapes.  The award-winning game has spawned a number of variants and sequels, with three more planned for 2021, all designed by Ubongo! creator Grzegorz Rejchtman:

Ubongo!  The Brain Game to Go is a compact, travel-friendly version of the game that features a plastic travel case that double as the game board.  It comes with 15 plastic puzzle tiles and 20 cards with more than 200 puzzles.  For 1 player.  MSRP is $14.95.  Releasing in June.

Ubongo!  3D replaces the game’s flat tiles with three-dimensional blocks in a variety of shapes to further challenge the players’ spatial-reasoning skills.  For 1 to 4 players.  MSRP is $39.95.  Releasing in June.

Rounding out the trio is Ubongo!  Junior, designed for younger audiences aged 5 and up.  This version features wacky cartoon animals on the puzzle pieces and 100 relatively simpler puzzles to puzzles to challenge young minds.  For 1 to 4 players.  MSRP is $24.95.  Releasing in November.
