A new age of Guardians of the Galaxy kicks off with a double-sized, 175th issue in Guardians of the Galaxy #13. Al Ewing's new version of this classic MCU team features some strange new additions along with a vanguard of old favorites. The new Guardians team includes Hulkling, Star-Lord, Groot, Nova, Wiccan, Gamora, Quasar (Avril Kincaid), Rocket Raccoon, Super Skrull, Moondragon, Marvel Boy, Mantis, Drax, Phyla-Vell, Hercules, Quasar (Wendell Vaughn), and Doctor Doom.
Clearly, the most bizarre addition to the team is that of Doctor Doom. While he occasionally straddles the borderline between heroic and villainous as it suits his needs, Doctor Doom is not traditionally known for being a guardian of anything other than his own castle in Latveria. Ewing's bold take on this team is supported in Guardians of the Galaxy #13 with art from Juan Frigeri (Ghost Rider) and a cover by Brett Booth.
Marvel Comics also recently previewed Women's History Month variant covers by Jen Bartel (see "Preview: More 'Women's History Month' Variant Covers by Jen Bartel").
