Atlas Games announced Gloomier: A Night at Hemlock Hall, a new game in the Gloom series, which will be on Kickstarter on March 9.

Gloomier: A Night at Hemlock Hall is a stand-alone competitive storytelling card game that is compatible with the other core Gloom games (see "'Gloom 2E'"). This time players are returning to Gloom's Hemlock Hall to delve deeper into the world of the Wellington-Smythe family, and weave more tales about these miserable souls. This game uses transparent cards which allow a character’s story and score to evolve as they are stacked upon them. Designer Keith Baker commented on the new game:

“It’s definitely a deeper dive," said Baker. "I’d say it’s Hemlock Hall, Season 2.”

The game box comes with 110 transparent cards which include 14 new Guests and 6 new stories. This game is for two to five players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 to 60 minutes. There has been no word on MSRP or a retail release date as of the publication of this article.

Keith Baker also recently designed The Adventure Zone  game for Twogether Studios (see "New Deets On 'The Adventure Zone: Bureau of Balance' ").
