Give Comics Hope, charitable initiative that rallies members of the comics community to provide aid to small businesses, announced that it has opened up its application period for grants.

Comic shop owners can apply for the grants from March 1 to March 15, and funds are expected to be dispersed in April. Give Comics Hope founder Bill Schanes had the following to say about the grants:

“Many specialty retailers have struggled during these exceptionally challenging times. While comic book shops have not only persevered, but in some cases thrived during this past year, we set out to raise awareness in the ongoing need to support our friends in retail, and were pleased we were able to do our part for those in need and shine a light on our industry at large.”

They have also raised money for shops from sales of merchandise from their website and through charity auctions. Give Comics Hope is a partner of the Binc Foundation, which manages and disburses the funds raised by Give Comics Hope. The application for store assistance can be found on the Binc Foundation's website.

Binc gave $2.9 million to more than 2,200 comic stores, book stores, and individuals in 2020 (see "Dynamite Gives Binc $10,000").
