Dark Horse Comics will release Nexus: The Newspaper Strips, a trade paperback collection of material originally self-published by artist Steve Rude in newspaper format plus bonus material, in August. The 184-page full-color collection is in 7" x 10" format, and will retail for $29.99.
The material re-unites writer Mike Baron with Rude, and the art is colored by Steven Legge. In the story, a planet-devouring creature and his mysterious ally are drawn to Ylum by something long dormant beneath the surface. This powerful being banishes Nexus to an unknown realm, where he can only escape by facing his worst fears.
Rude had always wanted to produce Nexus in a Sunday newspaper format, and produced eight papers in 2016, of course in a beautiful, oversized glossy version, after funding the project via Kickstarter. This volume collects the newspaper material, along with a newly remastered "Nexus: The Origin" comic and the classic Rude hand-painted Sundra story, "When She Was Young."
