Image Comics announced that The Department of Truth will kick off a new story arc in April with The Department of Truth #8.

The Department of Truth has been one of the hottest series produced in the last year.  Its inaugural  issue sold out at Diamond when it released in 2020 (see "James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds' 'Department of Truth' Sells Out With Over 100,000 Orders") and more recently, the new volume collecting its first five issues topped the GN Sales Chart in February (see "Top 20 Graphic Novels - February 2021").  The series is so hot that it has already been optioned for film and TV development by Sister, a production group founded by Elisabeth Murdoch, Stacey Snider, and Jane Featherstone, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Sister was responsible for shows such as Chernobyl and Gangs of London. James Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds will executive produce the prospective series, and Tynion IV will co-write the script.

The next story arc this acclaimed series starts up with The Department of Truth #8. In the new arc, Cole Turner begins to learn more about Lee Harvey Oswald and his stint as leader of the Department, he’s questions whether or not he has joined the right side.  He also continues to delve into the mystery of the Fictional Woman and what she wants from him.

This issue features three covers: Cover A by Martin Simmonds, Cover B by Bill Sienkiewicz, and Cover C by Skottie Young.  It will be available on April 28.
