Z2 Comics, which has built a catalog of graphic novels by and about musicians, is adding another name to the roster: Joan Jett.

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts 40 x 40 is a graphic anthology commemorating the 40th anniversary of the release of Jett’s albums Bad Reputation and I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll. Each story in the anthology is based on one of the 20 tracks on those two albums, by an all-female lineup of creators that includes Amanda Deibert, Jamaica Dyer,  Liana Kangas, Cat Mihos, Wiktoria Radkiewicz, Cat Staggs, Jazzlyn Stone, Evgenia Vereli, and Annie Zaleski. The book has two covers; the front cover, based on I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, is by Tara McPherson and the Bad Reputation cover on the flipside is by Clara Tessier.

Z2 will release the collection in November 2021 in two formats: A softcover edition with an MSRP of $24.99 and a hardcover with an MSRP of $39.99. In addition, they offer several deluxe formats exclusively via their website.
