On 'MTG Arena' in the Standard 2022 Format

Wizards of the Coast announced that they have banned The Book of Exalted Deeds, a card from the upcoming D&D: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set, on MTG Arena in the Standard 2022 format.
The D&D: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms is going into its tabletop prerelease week (see "'Magic: The Gathering' Release Calendar for 2020/2021"), and one card from the set has already caused a problem on MTG Arena. WotC announced an emergency banning of The Book of Exalted Deeds in the Standard 2022 Best-of-One format because it created a "very frustrating experience". The Book of Exalted Deeds and Faceless Haven, a card from Kaldheim, combo allows a player to control a land that prevents them from losing the game. With no sideboards available in Standard 2022, players have limited answers to the combo in a single game.
The Book of Exalted Deeds will still be legal in the tabletop Standard format, where sideboards are legal. However, it is yet to be determined whether or not the negative play experience this combo created translates, in a different way or at all, to Standard tabletop games. Both cards that generate the combo will be legal in Standard through format rotation that starts with Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (see "Wizards of the Coast Announces a Price Increase on 'Magic: The Gathering' Prerelease Packs "), which means the combo will be legal in Standard for a significant time frame.
