Mark Millar will return to the story he began in The Magic Order with a five-issue sequel, The Magic Order 2, that will be published by Image Comics beginning in October. Stuart Immonen (Empress, The New Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man) will be the artist, replacing Olivier Coipel, the artist for the first series. The first issue of The Magic Order 2 will be released on October 27 with a main cover and a black and white variant by Immonen, as well as variants by Greg Tocchini and Ozgur Yildirim and a 1-in-10 incentive variant by Mark Chiarello.

The Magic Order was the first comic published by Millarworld after Netflix acquired Millar’s creator-owned portfolio in 2017 (see “Mark Millar Brings ‘Order’ to Netflix”). Netflix ordered a series in 2019 (see "Millar's 'Magic Order' Gets Series Order"). Work was halted during the COVID-19 pandemic but it is now back in development. The first series revolved around five families of wizards who live in the ordinary world but also protect it against supernatural threats. The second series centers on a turf war between the London chapter of the Magic Order and Eastern European Warlocks.
