Comic Editors Move On and Move Up

There's been change in two comic publishers' editor rosters, as one moved on and another moved up. Shannon Watters announced on Twitter that she has left her position as Senior Editor at BOOM! Studios and is looking for new writing and editing opportunities. “I’m utterly grateful for my tenure there & everything that grew out of BOOM! Box, but it was time to stride boldly forward into the Vast Unknown,” she wrote. Watters is the co-creator and editor of Lumberjanes, which was launched in 2014 and won two Eisner Awards, spun off a prose novel series, and is being developed as a TV show by HBO Max. The series ended last year (see “‘Lumberjanes’ to End as Ongoing Series”). She was responsible for the BOOM! Box imprint, acquiring and developing a number of titles, including Goldie Vance, Giant Days, and Fence. She is working on a graphic novel, which has yet to be announced but is scheduled for Fall 2022.
In other news, Valiant Entertainment has hired Audrey Meeker as an Assistant Editor. Meeker has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sequential Art, with a minor in Creative Writing, from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She first came to Valiant as an intern.
