DC’s teen superhero Naomi McDuffie will be back for a second season starting in March. The six-issue series will launch on March 8 with the same creative team as the first, writers Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker and artist Jamal Campbell. Naomi: Season Two #1 will have a cover by Campbell, and the 32-page comic will have an MSRP of $3.99.

Naomi originally launched in January 2019 as part of Bendis’s Wonder Comics imprint (see “Creative Teams for DC’s Wonder Comics Imprint Revealed”). The character also appeared in Young Justice and Justice League, and the new series builds out from those appearances. Naomi is a Black teenager who lives in a small town and must deal with the usual teenage issues of family and friends as well as the challenges of having superpowers. “The first story we wrote was about Naomi learning who she really is, and now this story is all about unpacking the realities of what it means to be a Super Hero,” Walker said in a statement in DC’s announcement.

“Naomi has been thrown into the deep end of life and the series is about that,” Bendis said in the announcement “What Naomi is going through in the superhero universe is what a lot of people go through in the real world. All the sudden you’re in over your head and things are expected of you and there are still so many questions and mysteries about her parents, birth world, powers and the world she grew up in. You’re in for lots of surprises!”
