Jim Zub is set to write comics starring the two top characters set in Robert E. Howard’s Hyborian Age, Conan and Red Sonja, for different publishers in the coming months.

First up is Red Sonja, originally created by Roy Thomas for Marvel Comics in 1973, and currently published by Dynamite Entertainment.  Zub will write Unbreakable Red Sonja, a new flagship Red Sonja comic series for Dynamite, launching in October.  The new series will feature art by Giovanni Valletta (John Wick, James Bond). Covers for the first issue (in Gallery below) will be contributed by Lucio Parrillo, David Finch, Judy Jong, Dan Panosian, Celina, Giuseppe Matteoni, and cosplayer Augusta Moore.

Zub will also write a Free Comic Book Day Conan story and the flagship Conan series for new co-publishers Titan Comics and property owner Heroic Signatures (see “Titan Comics to Co-Publish Conan”), launching in May 2023.  The announcement was made at San Diego Comic-Con, with announcement art by Roberto de La Torre.

Zub previously co-wrote a comic miniseries featuring both characters with Gail Simone for Dark Horse Comics: Conan/Red Sonja in 2015 (see "The Barbarian Power Couple").
