On September 2, Asmodee will release Box Monster, a dexterity-based cooperative children’s game from Korean publisher Mandoo Games.

The Box Monster eats everything: pizza, teddy bears, grandma’s false teeth, until it gets indigestion.  That’s where the players come in.  They must reach into its “stomach” to pull out the bad things.

In the game, the players fill the box with tokens representing things the monster has eaten.  Then, each player draws a card and they all reach into the box at the same time, using the four holes in the sides of the box, and try to find the items shown on their card by feel alone before the timer runs out.  If they can retrieve all of the items shown on all of the cards before they lose three life tokens, they win the game.

Box Monster was created by Romain Caterdjian (Dive, Geometric Art) and features artwork by Marie Cardouat (Dixit, Steam Park).  It comes with 44 item tokens, a sand timer, and 27 cards.  The game is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 6 and up, and plays in about 5 minutes.  MSRP is $29.99.

Autumn will also see Asmodee launch the trivia game Bezzerwizzer (see “Asmodee Will Release ‘Bezzerwizzer’ into U.S. Retail”), a two-player version of Splendor (see “Asmodee Announces New Deets for ‘Splendor Duel’”), and the Wild West game 3000 Scoundrels (see “Asmodee and Unexpected Games Announce ‘3000 Scoundrels’”).
