Cover B by Amanda Conner
Demona, one of the Gargoyles’ biggest foes in the Disney animated series, returns to the story in Dynamite Entertainment's Gargoyles #7, and this issue will feature a range of variant covers including one by Amanda Conner, the penciler for Marvel’s 1995 Gargoyles comics.  Gargoyles #7 is slated for release on June 28 and will have covers by regular cover artist David Nakayama, Lucio Parrillo, Lesley "Leirix" Li, Jae Lee, and Tony Fleecs & Trish Forstner in addition to Conner.

Dynamite is pitching this issue as a good “jumping-on point” for readers who haven’t been following the story so far. Greg Weisman, who was one of the creators of the animated series and is writing the Dynamite comics, and artist George Kambadais are setting up the story with a chapter that will be accessible to new readers while establishing the importance of what follows.

In Gargoyles lore, Demona is a former Gargyole herself who had a daughter with Goliath but is estranged from the current group, the Manhattan Clan, and bitterly hates humans.  "Demona brings danger and intrigue to every story she's in,” Weisman said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “She's been off the Manhattan Clan's radar for months and months, but nothing will quite prepare them for what she has planned...”

Dynamite acquired the license for Gargoyles last year (see “Dynamite Gets ‘Gargoyles’”), and the first issue was the number 7 comic in the chart of top titles from ComicHub (see “Top 50 Comics – December 2022”).
