DC Comics will launch a new ongoing Blue Beetle series in September, shortly after the premiere of the Blue Beetle movie. The creative team for the new series will be writer Josh Trujillo, artist Adrian Gutierrez, colorist Wil Quintana, and letterer Lucas Gattoni, who have just wrapped up the six-issue limited series Blue Beetle: Graduation Day. The ongoing series will have the same protagonist, Jaime Reyes, and will spin out of the final issue of Blue Beetle: Graduation Day. The first issue of Blue Beetle will go on sale in September 2023 with a cover by Gutierrez and Luis Guerrero.
DC will also release the collected edition of Blue Beetle: Graduation Day simultaneously in English and Spanish on August 1, 2023. The 144-page paperback will have an MSRP of $14.99.
The trade will be released just ahead of Blue Beetle, the feature film, which is set to premiere on August 18, 2023 (see “‘Blue Beetle’ Movie News”).
