Marvel Comics and Clover Press are teaming up for a new series of high-end art books featuring the work of well known Marvel artists. The first two will be The Marvel Art of David Mack and The Marvel Art of Alex Maleev, both of which will be funded by a Kickstarter launching later in the spring that will include a retailer tier. The books will be available in regular and Kickstarter-exclusive editions; the latter will have a slipcase and gilded pages.
The Marvel Art of David Mack will focus on Mack’s Daredevil art and will include a foreword by Vincent D’Onofrio, who played Wilson Fisk in the Netflix Daredevil series, and an afterword by Mack’s frequent collaborator, writer Brian Michael Bendis. The Marvel Art of Alex Maleev will include Maleev’s watercolor work on Daredevil, Spider-Woman, and Moon Knight and will have an afterword by Bendis. More titles will be announced in the future.
Clover Press will also release two portfolios for each artist, one featuring Daredevil and one showcasing their other Marvel Universe work. Each portfolio will include 14 plates, measuring 11" x 14".
Clover recently announced plans for new, larger editions of the first six volumes of The Complete Dick Tracy (see "Clover Press to Reissue Vols. 1-6 of LOAC ‘Dick Tracy’ Collections").
