Michael B. Jordan and his production company, Outlier Society, are teaming up with BOOM! Studios to produce a four-issue comics miniseries that will be a sequel to Jordan’s film Creed III.  The boxing film opened in March and is the sixth-highest grossing film of 2023 so far.

The Creed miniseries picks up on the story 10 years after the ending of the movie, with Adonis Creed's daughter Amara taking her place in the ring as an amateur boxer.  Her parents are her trainers, but their natural desire to protect her is keeping Amara from advancing in her career, so she seeks out another trainer, someone who knows how Adonis fights and isn’t afraid of him.

Jordan, the star of the Creed movies and the producer and director of Creed III, will be the creative director for the series, which will be co-written by LaToya Morgan and Jai Jamison, with art by Wilson Santos and coloring by DJ Chavis.  The first issue will be released in June 2023 with a main cover by Mateus Manhanani and variant covers by Valentine De Landro, Paris Alleyne, Junggeon Yoon, and Jahnoy Lindsay.

In addition to the Creed movies, Jordan has portrayed Erik Killmonger in the Black Panther films and Johnny Storm in 2015’s The Fantastic Four.  Jordan’s Outlier Society is teaming up with Warner Brothers to produce a Static Shock feature film (see “DC Announces New Milestone ‘Blood Syndicate’ Series”), and Deadline reports that Jordan is executive producer of the upcoming Val Zod series for HBO Max, which will feature a Kryptonian on Earth 2.
