1First Games, the tabletop games division of 1First Comics, presented two games in development at the GAMA Expo: Inns & Outcasts and Apothecary: Plague Doctors, both releasing later this year.

Created by Andy Noetzel and Blake Messmer of Game Changing Designs, Inns & Outcasts pits players in a struggle to gather as much loot as they can as quickly as possible.

Set in a high-fantasy world, the players deploy their characters over a series of rounds.  Each character has an initiative value, which determines when their abilities take effect.  As each player begins the game with one character of each speed, deciding when to use their fastest characters is an important part of the game’s strategy.

Inns & Outcasts is intended for 3 to 8 players, ages 10 and up.  Games take about half an hour to play.

Apothecary: Plague Doctor is a card game about would-be healers during the era of the Black Death.  Players attempt to gather ingredients and create concoctions to treat a variety of ailments based on the health-care philosophies of the time period.

Details about both games, including MSRP and release dates, have not been announced as of this writing.

Last year, 1First Games launched its boardgame based on The Boys comic book series (see “Take on Homelander in ‘The Boys:  This Is Going to Hurt – The Board Game’” and “Wizard World Chicago Preview:  ‘The Boys: This Is Going to Hurt’”).
