He Who Fights With Monsters is published online on the webnovel site Royal Road. The first nine volumes have been published as audiobooks by Podium and independently published in print, and the series currently has over 21,000 followers on Royal Road. The tenth volume of the novel will be published in November 2023, and Vault expects to start releasing the graphic novels in 2024.
“After becoming one of the best-rated serial novels on Royal Road with an astonishing 13 million views, He Who Fights With Monsters has topped the charts in its book and audio forms,” said publisher Victoria Gerken of Podium in a statement accompanying the announcement. “We are confident that as a comic adaptation the audience and fandom for the series will continue to expand to even greater heights.”
LitRPG is a fiction genre that mixes RPG elements with fantasy or science fiction stories; it includes many isekai novels and manga such as Sword Art Online.
