Marvel is collecting writer David Michelinie and artist Mark Bagley’s Spider-Man stories in a series of omnibus editions, kicking off with Spider-Man by Michelinie & Bagley Omnibus Vol. 1 in June 2024. The first volume includes Amazing Spider-Man (1963) #351-375 and Amazing Spider-Man Annual (1964) #25-26, plus material from Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #11-12, Web of Spider-Man Annual #7-8, and New Warriors Annual #2. Storylines include a new bout with the Tri-Sentinel, the first appearance of Carnage, the Invasion of the Spider-Slayers, the return of Peter Parker’s parents, and a final, climactic fight with Venom.
In addition to Michelinie and Bagley, the omnibus includes work by writers Al Milgrom, Eric Fein, and Fabian Nicieza, and artists Chris Marrinan, Aaron Lopresti, Jerry Bingham, Guangyap, Alan Kupperberg, Scott Mcdaniel, Marie Severin, and Brandon Peterson. The 1,048-page hardcover will go on sale on June 12, 2024, with two covers, both by Bagley, a Marvel Age cover and a direct market-only Spider-Man vs. Venom and Carnage cover. MSRP will be $125.
Michelinie returned to the world of Venom this summer with a five-episode backup story in the limited series Death of the Venomverse (see “‘Summer of Symbiotes’”), while Bagley will be the artist for the new Superior Spider-Man ongoing series (see “SDCC News”).
