With Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution set to premiere on January 25, 2024 (see “‘MOTU: Revolution’ Trailer”), Dark Horse Comics has announced a four-issue prequel miniseries that will launch in May. The comics, also titled Masters of the Universe: Revolution, will be written by show producers Tim Sheridan, Rob David, and Ted Biaselli, with art by Daniel HDR, inks by Keith Champagne, and colors by Brad Simpson. The series is set in the early days of Hordak and Skeletor, when their ambition led them to join forces and mix magic with advanced technology. The first issue will be released on May 15, 2024, with a main cover by Dave Wilkins and a variant by Tyler Boss.
In addition, Dark Horse and Mattel Television Studios (which is producing the animated series) revealed a special variant cover for issue #4 by Tim Seeley that highlights a number of characters from the animated series.
