It is the middle of "sprinter," but the showbiz news is warming up.  Time for another round-up!

Warner Bros. Discovery's CEO David Zaslav announced in the company’s Q4 earnings call that Superman: Legacy will begin filming this week (along with the notion that the studio was "underperforming").  The company also recently revealed the cast for this James Gunn film (see "'Superman: Legacy' Casting").

In the same Warner Bros. Discovery Q4 earnings call, it was revealed that a new Game of Thrones spinoff is currently in pre-production.  A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, originally titled Tales of Dunk & Egg (see "Thrones' Prequel"), is scheduled to arrive on Max in late 2025.

Lionsgate will adapt Naruto in a live-action movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  They have tapped Destin Daniel Cretton to pen and direct the movie.  Cretton recently exited the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty movie at Marvel Studios (see "Director Off 'Avengers: The Kang Dynasty'").

Paramount+ has released a trailer for the fifth season of Star Trek: Discovery, which will be the final season for the series (see "’Star Trek: Discover’ Ending").  The new episodes will begin on April 4.

Lionsgate dropped a trailer for Borderlands (see below).  The new movie, based on the popular video game, stars Cate Blanchett  (see "Blanchett in 'Borderlands,'"), Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Warner Bros. Entertainment released a trailer for Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths Part Two (see below), the second part of this animated trilogy (see "'Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 1' Trailer").  This movie will release on 4k Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and Digital on April 23, 2024.

Lionsgate announced that the John Wick spinoff Ballerina and The Crow reboot will swap dates, according to Deadline.  The Crow will take over the June 7, 2024 date (see "'The Crow'") and Ballerina will head to June 5, 2025.
