Dungeons & Dragons has had a roller coaster ride over the last couple of years. Last year, right after a great 2022 holiday season for the game, social media posters made it seem like the D&D Apocalypse had come along with the whole botched OGL rollout incident (see "Wizards of the Coast Backs Down"). A little over a year and a half later, fears of D&D's potential demise in the games marketplace were predictably overblown, and most people are in love with the game again, except for a few players who are disgruntled about having to re-buy 5E core books in their updated editions (see "2024-25 Deets and Dates").
The 50th anniversary of the game, and the products that accompanied this landmark event, was the spark that ignited RPG players' love for D&D again. For a good long while in 2024, WotC could put a 50th Anniversary logo on almost any product and it would generate fan interest. This level of interest will likely continue into the end of the year as the 2024 rulebooks continue to roll out.
Now, the question of the season becomes "What D&D stuff should get stocked for holiday gift giving?" ICv2 has a few suggestions, as always. The gallery below contains a curated list of D&D gifts for the 2024 holiday season.
