Woman-owned Laguna Studios, formed in 2023 by multiple creators, seeks to create a platform for high-quality comics from voices that might otherwise go unheard.
Laguna Studios titles include Finding Dee, written and drawn by Reuben Award-nominated Dee Fish; The Surgeon, by John Pence and Omar Zaldivar; anthology title Cthulhu Is Hard To Spell; and The Unthinkables, written by Paul Hanley with art by Ian Richardson.
Laguna Studios have previously been available to crowdfunding supporters and direct-to-consumer. "The opportunity for our books to be in stores, read by a whole new audience, and to collaborate with them to expand our reach and knowledge is the next step to evolve our company and creative process, too," Laguna Studios Co-Founder Laurie Foster said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
