Doctor Doom calls up a the original Thunderbolts to battle a new Thunderbolts team in Thunderbolts: Doomstrike, a five-issue limited series by writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing and artist Tommaso Bianchi.  The story ties in to the One World Under Doom event, with Bucky Barnes, stricken by the part he played in Doctor Doom’s ascension to power, assembling a Thunderbolts team, including Black Widow, Songbird, USAgent, and Sharon Carter, to take down the usurper.  Doom retaliates by forming his own team of original Thunderbolts, including Moonstone, Atlas, and Fixer, setting the stage for a Thunderbolts vs. Thunderbolts showdown.  The first issue will be released on February 19, 2025, with a cover by Leinil Francis Yu.

The Marvel Studios film Thunderbolts is slated to premiere on May 2, 2025 (see "‘Thunderbolts’ Footage").

One World Under Doom is "a Marvel event with brains, heart, and incredible scope," Kelly and Lanzing said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  "The Thunderbolts are a crucial part of the puzzle: this is the story of what happens when heroes openly oppose Doom... and how they'll have to learn to fight differently if they're ever to make a difference.  With returning characters and storylines we've been building since our run on Captain America, plus new and returning Thunderbolts from all eras, Thunderbolts: Doomstrike is a whole new take on Marvel's messiest, meanest superteam—a story about fighting the power, even if it costs you everything."

Marvel Comics announced the tie-in series Doom Academy at New York Comic Con (see "First ‘One World Under Doom’ Series").
