Steamforged Games has reached an agreement with property owner Paradox Interactive for a board game based on the World War II grand strategy video game Hearts of Iron, the companies announced, and has begun revealing game components and other details for the upcoming game. Hearts of Iron: The Board Game will first be offered on Gamefound early next year.
The board game will allow 2-5 players to customize playable nations through their ideology and then engage in political maneuvering and large-scale combat to alter the map, all in a single 3-4 hour session. The variability of nation, ideology, and focus provide for a high degree of replayability.
