Australian publisher Grail Games has formed a new strategic partnerships with Frost Bite Games in addition to a strategic partnership with Matagot. The result will be game titles shifting between the companies to enhance focus. Frost Bite Games, formerly Maple Games, will now focus on heavier strategy games in English and French, and will take on the Manhattan Project games (see "The Manhattan Project: chain Reaction") from Grail Games. Grail acquired the Manhattan Project games from Minion Games in 2021. Manhattan Project: Energy Empire, the first new Frost Bite game in the series, will go to Kickstarter on February 28.
Grail Games will focus on small games and medium-weight strategy games, and will take on upcoming medium-weight game Valedictorian (by Sagrada designer Adrian Adamescu and Sparks designer Florin Purluca) from Frost Bite. Valedictorian will go to Kickstarter later this year.
Grail Games studio head David Harding will also serve as Production Director for Frost Bite Games; former Maple Games studio head Billy Chandler, will remain at the studio as Creative Director.
Grail’s partnership with Matagot moved some family games to Matagot, and strategy games from Matagot to Grail in return.
