The new Rising Tensions expansion adds a new narrative and starships to the Star Trek: Into the Unknown miniatures game (see "'Star Trek: Into the Unknown' Core Set"). This time the Klingon Empire enters the Dominion War as a standalone faction or as allies of the Federation or Dominion. The expansion features new officers and equipment as well as new campaign and incident missions as players decide the fate of the Alpha Quadrant.

The boxed set comes with the following miniatures: a Vor’cha-class Attack Cruiser, a B’rel-class Bird of Prey, a Miranda-class Cruiser, and a Defiant-class Escort. This expansion requires the base game to play and will retail for $99.99.
