Yen Press has begun adding its titles to MangaPlaza, the digital manga platform by NTT Solmare Corp., the companies announced. MangaPlaza is the largest digital manga platform in Japan, where digital accounts for 73% of the manga market (see "Digital Captures 73% Share"), and one of the largest digital manga platforms in the U.S.
In addition to Yen Press manga titles, titles, Ize Press titles, including Solo Leveling, v-scroll comics and light novels are now available on the platform.
NTT Solmare sister company NTT Docomo became a minority shareholder in Yen Press parent Kadokawa in 2006 (see "Docomo Buys Stake in Kadokawa"). NTT Docomo launched its own English-language digital manga service, Manga Mirai, in the U.S. earlier this year.
Digital manga platforms continue to proliferate in the U.S., with Crunchyroll announcing a new platform earlier this year (see "Crunchyroll to Launch Digital Manga").
