Comics and books printed in Asia are exempted from the new import taxes imposed by the U.S. government last week, according to the notice released by the White House with the announcement. As ICv2 columnist Scott Thorne pointed out in his column yesterday in reference to RPG books printed in Asia, "printed books, brochures, leaflets and similar printed matter, other than in single sheets” are exempt (see "Rolling for Initiative").
The tariffs, announced Wednesday afternoon, provide for increased import taxes of 34% on goods from China, 25% on goods from South Korea, and 24% on goods from Japan (see "Worst Case Tariffs").
