Pandasaurus is bringing Gatsby to the U.S. in October, a new two-player game from Catch Up Games designed by veteran designers Bruno Cathala (7 Wonders Duel, Abyss) and Ludovic Maublanc (Cyclades, Mr. Jack).

Inspired by the literary classic, Gatsby puts two players in the shoes of Dorothy Williams and James Miller, both competing for the fickle favor of the “great” Jay Gatsby.  The competition takes place over a trio of Roaring Twenties social sites, the cabaret, the racetrack, and the finance center, each offering a different way for them to get ahead.  The players use their tokens and special actions strategically to gain the support of various characters.  The first to get either three characters of the same color or one character of each different color wins the game.

Gatsby features artwork by Christine Alcouffe (Tichu, Paper Tales).  The game plays in about half an hour, and is intended for ages 10 and up.  MSRP is $39.95.

In August, Pandasaurus will launch the space-themed Shackleton Base:  A Journey to the Moon (see “Pandasaurus Games Announced ‘Shackleton Base:  A Journey to the Moon’”).  The company is also partnering with Catch Up Games for Rivages, also releasing in Q4 (see “Pandasaurus Announces ‘Rivages’”).
