Ad Populum, the new owner of Diamond Comic Distributors, has released a statement responding to the news today that Penguin Random House Publisher Services would no longer offer books through Diamond Comic Distributors (see "Diamond Will No Longer Distribute Marvel…"). The move affects titles from Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, BOOM! Studios, and potentially others. The statement was the first word from the new owner of the comic distribution operations of Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. since the acquisition closed last week (see “Under New Ownership”).
“It’s disappointing that after years of collaboration, Penguin Random House has abruptly cut off access to product for our loyal retailers and fans," a Diamond spokesperson said. ”We’re focused on actively working with other publishers to remedy the situation and minimize disruption."
