Matt Goldrick, Sr Director of Sales and Development at Quartermaster Logistics, explains the push behind this new initiative: "We’ve been focusing our strategies on growth and development over the past year, with the initial target being sales direct to distributors and retailers. When we heard about the closure at Funagain, we jumped at the opportunity to talk to James and Erica with Funagain Distribution. It didn’t take us long to figure out that the years of industry and sales experience between the two of them was something we wanted on our team."
James Takenaka, former Director of Funagain Distribution, has over 25 years of experience in the collectible and tabletop games industry. He started selling at collectibles shows in 1990 and then became a co-owner of the Comix and Cardz Etc. hobby store. Since then, he’s worked with Bandai America Inc. and Tabletop Tycoon before starting Hit Point Sales in March of 2012 and growing that into Funagain Distribution.
Erica Sanders, former Sales & Marketing Manager for Funagain Distribution, has been an avid board game fan and collector for as long as she can remember. She turned that passion into a profession when she joined Funagain to manage their Ashland retail store in 2019 and later moved into Funagain Distribution.
"Quartermaster Direct will utilize James and Erica's years of experience to provide wholesale services to publishers seeking distribution into local game stores, and give retailers and distributors a place to 'one stop shop'," says Matt. "We're looking forward to using the framework that they've [James and Erica] already built previously and to leverage our administrative and support teams to make it even bigger and better.
