Michael Breakfield of Lone Star Comics in Arlington, Texas comments on the news of Kevin Smith pulling out of the Buckaroo Banzai TV series (see "Kevin Smith Pulls Out of 'Buckaroo Banzai' TV Series").
I applaud Kevin Smith for drawing a line in the sand here. Creators need to be better protected. Just because somebody allows somebody else to make a movie about something you created it should NEVER mean that creator loses his right to his/her creation. This kind of stuff has been going on in Hollywood, with publishers (books and comics), and in entertainment in general for the better part of a century and it's NOT right. It's great to see someone who has the courage to back his convictions and stand up for the creators. Well done, Mr. Smith (a.k.a. MyHero), well done.
