The R-rated action comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard , which stars Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds topped the weekend box office with a better-than-expected $21.5 million, but Hollywood’s late summer swoon continued as ticket revenues were down 44.7% from the same weekend last year.
