Members of the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) elected a new slate of officers at the recently concluded Origins game show in Columbus, Ohio.

The attendance at the recent Origins show in Columbus topped 12,600, according to GAMA, up over 10% from last year.

Gabriel Vega of the Name of the Game of Camarillo, California had a strong response to the announcement by GAMA president Rick Loomis that the GAMA Board of Directors had decided not to enforce the ban on Internet discounters on the Origins floor that was passed by the membership last year.

In a recent letter from President Rick Loomis to the GAMA membership, GAMA announced that it will not be enforcing its ban on Internet discounters on the exhibit floor of Origins in 2003.

The Origins Awards are the most comprehensive set of gaming awards, and in many ways the most prestigious. As was the case last year, GAMA has produced a poster featuring all the winners of this year's Origins Awards.

GAMA announced that pre-registrations for the Origins 2002 Games Convention have set a record before the June 10, pre-registration deadline.
