At the Emerald City Con in Seattle Dark Horse Comics announced the 2010 publication of a graphic novel by Jeff Jensen and Ramon K. Perez about the infamous Green River Killer, who terrorized the Seattle area during the 1980s.  The 120-page graphic novel, Green River Killer: A Detective Story, will chronicle the 20-year effort of Detective Tom Jensen (Jeff Jensen’s father) to capture and convict serial killer Gary L. Ridgway, who was convicted of killing 48 women in 2003.

The basis for the graphic novel are tapes of a marathon 108-day interrogation of Ridgway by Detective Jensen that took place away from the county jail and during which Ridgway confessed to the Green River killings.  Ridgway, who has an IQ of just 82, was abused by a domineering mother, but the motives for his multiple murders remained obscure.  But murder was truly "his business," he has confessed to more murders (over 90) than any other American serial killer.  According to the Seattle Times, Jeff Jensen, who is a reporter for Entertainment Weekly, hopes to use the tapes of his father’s interrogation of the killer to provide new insights into the riddle of Jensen’s sociopathic behavior.
