Paramount and Platinum Dunes have signed Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who penned the highly successful first Iron Man movie, to write a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature film. Paramount and Nickelodeon paid a reported $60 million to acquire the rights to the TMNT last year (see “Nick Buys TMNT”). Nick and Paramount plan to create a new TMNT TV series as well as a feature film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount hopes to be able to put a TMNT feature film into production sometime next year. In addition to the original Iron Man movie, Marcum and Hollyway have worked on a reboot of the Highlander series (see “Summit Rebooting Highlander”), and a new Buck Rogers film (see “Buck Rogers in 3D”).
