Well the other shoe is starting to drop—as predicted by ICv2 and every other comic book news site in creation, Future Foundation or whatever notwithstanding, Marvel can’t pass up the opportunity to release a Fantastic Four #600 issue in November. The latest teaser image for the project code named Four features all four original members of the Fantastic Four including the Human Torch. But it also includes Spider-Man who replaced Johnny Storm in the Future Foundation, which was formed after the demise of the Human Torch. However Spidey is in his familiar red and blue togs rather than his Future Foundation uniform and Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman are in their classic Fantastic Four costumes. Does anyone want to bet against a reappearance of Johnny Storm of some kind?
At least Marvel is finally providing more detailed creator information (if not the cover price) for the quadruple-size behemoth anniversary issue. Jonathan Hickman, who has overseen the death of the Human Torch and the creation of the Future Foundation, is the sole writer noted, but four pencilers are credited (as befits a quadruple-size issue), Steve Epting, Carmine Di Giandomenico, Leinil Yu, and Farel Dalrymple. Gabriele Dell’Otto is providing the cover, but of course there will the usual plethora of variants with additional covers by Joe Quesada (teaser #3 anyone?), John Romita, Jr., and Art Adams.
