Over the weekend screenwriter Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class, The Woman in Black) attended the Empire Movie awards where she was interviewed by Ben Mortimer of Hey U Guys (via Bleeding Cool).

One of the best reviewed of all of last year’s superhero movies, X-Men: First Class, which was produced for $160 million, earned nearly $354 million worldwide.  While not a huge moneymaker for the studio, First Class did well enough to warrant a sequel, if all the pieces fall into place.  Fox has other X-Men projects, including a Venom movie, in the works, so we will have to wait and see if and when a sequel to X-Men: First Class pans out.
