The Cartoon Network has unveiled the first image of the brash Guy Gardner who will take over from Hal Jordan as the Green Lantern of Sector 2814 when the CN's Green Lantern: The Animated Series returns in September. While DC and Warner Bros. attempt to establish the Green Lantern as a live-action movie franchise was a dismal franchise, the Cartoon Network's Green Lantern cartoon series has been quite a bit more successful.
According to TV Guide, Hal Jordan, who spent much of last season vanquishing the Red Lantern Corps, returns to Earth only to find that he has been replaced by the brash and cocky Gardner. Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show, Batman: The Brave and the Bold) will voice Gardner, who definitely appears like he is ready to kick it up a notch or two during the coming season (any similarity to a certain superhero from Pixar's The Incredibles is, of course, purely coincidental).
