Lin Pictures (Warner Bros.' The LEGO Movie) is uniting with digital comics publisher Red Giant Entertainment to develop and produce a big screen adaptation of the daily Webcomic Wayward Sons.  The film is out to writers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.  The development deal also includes a TV series and a novel series. Lin Pictures has a first look deal with Warner Bros.

As a Webcomic, Wayward Sons: Legends updates daily and provides bonus materials each weekend for audiences.  In May 2010, Red Giant Entertainment published hardcover and trade paperback collections of the first volume written by Benny R. Powell and illustrated by Andrea Bormida, David Reddick, and Weilin Yang.  A second volume of both hardcover and softcover formats was released in May 2011.

Wayward Sons: Legends is a science fiction, space fantasy surrounding the crash-landing of an ancient race of warring aliens on Earth.  Their immortal offspring become the source material for every myth, legend, and religious tale humanity holds dear.  A spin-off, entitled Wayward Sons, is set in the modern world with the half-human children of the original immortals.
