Toho will produce and distribute a live action feature based on the Attack on Titan manga, according to the manga’s official website, via ANN. The film will be directed by storyboarder and SFX director Shinji Higuchi. The film is being written by Yuusuke Watanabe (Gantz, Gantz II: Perfect Answer, 20th Century Boys).
Shooting will start next summer and the film will be released in 2015.
Attack on Titan is closing on One Piece as the #1 manga series in Japan (see "'Attack on Titan' Closing on 'One Piece'").
