Warner Bros.’ planned San Diego Comic-Con announcements for future DC Comics films have been scooped by Deadline founder Nikki Finke in the very first news post on her new website. She lays out Warners’ schedule for DC films through 2018, with some surprises:
May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2
We haven’t heard anything about Shazam for almost five years, when Geoff Johns and Bill Birch were said to be working on a script (see "Johns on 'Shazam' Movie").
Sandman has been in development more recently with Joseph Gordon-Levitt producing and David Goyer writing (see "'Sandman' Movie").
Justice League has been officially announced (see "'Justice League' Movie Announced"), and Wonder Woman cast for Batman v Superman, Justice League, and her solo film (see "Warner Bros. Gives New 'Wonder Woman' 3-Picture Deal"). The Flash-Green Lantern movie and another Superman film (as opposed to the Superman-Batman teamup film) have not previously been disclosed.
Everything appears to be dependent on locking in talent for the planned Justice League movie, at least some of whom will be making cameos in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie (see "Batman-Superman Movie Gets Title"), like Wonder Woman and Cyclops, who have already been cast (see "Ray Fisher to Play Cyborg in 'Batman/Superman'").
The article even quotes a source who claims that the Flash, Green Lantern (not played by Ryan Reynolds), and even Aquaman may be introduced in Batman v Superman.
Sadly, the article stated that the Suicide Squad ("'Suicide Squad' Movie") and Metal Men movies (see "Another Try at 'Metal Men' Movie") have fallen off the schedule.
