VideoScan's First Alert Charts for overall video sales indicate that two recent Dragon Ball GT releases, DBGT: Preparation and DBGT: Ramification fared very well for the week starting on July 20. The DVD editions of the two DBGT releases ranked #17 and #18 against all the other DVDs in release that week. Meanwhile on the VHS side Dragon Ball GT's penetration into the mass market (where the vast majority of VHS sales are made) is clearly evident. DBGT took the first two positions on the chart with edited versions of the two titles and the #9 and #10 spots with uncut versions. Overall Dragon Ball GT's strong performance is evidence of the power of the brand in the mass-market, where it currently has no peer among anime titles.
