Viz LLC has announced two new retail exclusives, one anime and one manga.  On the anime side the Fourth and Fifth Box Sets of the romantic comedy Maison Ikkoku will only be available from two online sources, Viz's own Website and The Right Stuf.  On the manga side Viz is producing a special 2-volume Wolf's Rain box, which comes with Volume One of the manga plus a collectible lenticular card and which will only be available at Borders and Waldenbooks stores nationwide.

The 96-episode Maison Ikkoku anime series, which was produced in 1986, is based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi.  Viz is issuing the Maison Ikkoku anime in a series of 8 box sets, each of which contains twelve episodes.  The first three box sets were available through all channels, but sets four and five will be exclusive to The Right Stuf and Viz's own online store.

The Wolf's Rain manga is based on the popular anime series from Studio Bones, which was shown on the Cartoon Network.  While the two volumes of the Wolf's Rain manga will be available in all channels, the only way to purchase the first volume along with a special art box (which has space for both volumes, but only comes with #1) and collectible lenticular card is by going to Borders or Waldenbooks.  The BGI exclusive, which contains volume one, the art box and the card has an MSRP of $14.99.  Volume One of the Wolf's Rain manga will be available in other channels for $9.99.
