Lime, a new manga studio based in New Jersey, will celebrate the launch of the studio by selling two original doujinshi from its booth (# 457) at this weekend's New York Comic-Con.  The self-published, often short-run doujinshi publications are an integral part of the manga market in Japan, where over 300,000 fans frequent doujinshi shows like the bi-annual Comiket, and where many of the top manga creators began their careers by creating and selling their own doujinshi.

Lime, which is currently in the midst of creating two new manga series for Tokyopop Germany, will offer two 48-page, square-bound, short-run manga publications, Karma and Gilt, at the New York Comic-Con.  Karma, which is drawn by Lime lead artist Mary Hildebrandt (daughter of renowned fantasy illustrator Greg Hildebrandt), follows the supernatural misadventures of three bumbling ghosts, whose thieving and deceiving ways are keeping them from crossing over to the 'other side.'

Gilt is a slice-of-(bizarre)-life shonen ai saga set in the rarefied and unconventional world of the New York fine art scene.  Artist David Boller (creator of the cult classic comic Kaos Moon) spins a tale of attraction between Keiji Shioko, a lawyer, and the eccentric painter Jonathan Gilt.  Both Karma and Gilt will also be available (in installments) online at the Lime-Manga Website.
