
According to the Hollywood Reporter Intermedia has optioned Ada Alleca's script, The Drowning Man, which is based on Hideshi Hino's manga, Living Corpse. Alleca's take on Hino's classic horror manga involves a man who awakens to find that he has been turned into a pulse-less living zombie thanks to a heinous governmental experiment.
DH Publishing Inc. published Hino's Living Corpse manga in 2004 as part of its Hino Horror series, and if The Drowning Man movie gets made, it could provide an opportunity for retailers to acquaint new customers with the macabre and brilliant work of Hideshi Hino (Panorama of Hell), who is widely acknowledged as one of Japan's leading horror specialists with more than 200 titles in print.
